Know thyself

Know thyself

June 5, 2017

Know thyself is both an admonition and a directive. It is an admonition because it will alert you to the fact that often you can forget what you wanted to accomplish in this lifetime, and you lose your way when you become too dependent on the actions of others.

It is a directive because it reminds you that what you always intended to be was proactive instead of reactive. When you are reactive, the way you feel or experience your life depends on the actions of others. You desire autonomy, and you only find and experience that when your primary goal in life is to come to know and then ultimately own yourself. That is the real definition of freedom which is truly what you seek.
